Introduction to Optacy Webhooks

Receive privacy request data in real time over HTTPS and integrate Optacy into your own systems.

Welcome to webhook integrations for Optacy. Most teams use webhooks to automate privacy request processing or push events into an internal ticketing system. If you have a different use case, reach out. We are happy to discuss it.

Webhooks let you receive privacy request data in real time over HTTPS. Events fire when something happens in Optacy. For example, privacy_request.received sends the data available at the moment a request arrives.

How events work

Each event includes the latest state of the object, even on retry. The only payload we send once is the MP3 bytes of a voicemail recording. We do not maintain a change list; we order events in the system and send all data available at delivery time.

It is safe to use the signature timestamp to order object states. Keep that timestamp to guard against older events. If you replay an older event, we fetch the latest state and the signature timestamp is “now,” so you can safely update your record.

Notes

  • We only support HTTPS webhook URLs.
  • A full API is in progress. Contact us if you want early access for your use case.
  • HTTP requests are multipart because of how privacy request payloads (including recordings) are delivered.

Continue with Software Security to validate that events come from Optacy.
