HTTP request & SQL query editor
For each connection, create as many integration steps as you need. Each step is an HTTP request or SQL query. Most teams create one step per connection per privacy right.
Defining the integration steps
Integration plans reuse the same routing model as Merge Variables. In the UI, assign an integration step to each row of your plan, with an added priority column so multi-right requests run in the right order.
Example integration plan
If your customer information resides entirely in Salesforce, your integration plan will look like this.

- When a request includes multiple rights (such as deletion and access), priority controls the order of execution as each right completes.
- Optionally keep a human in the loop: teammates can manually confirm each right so work stays accurate at every step.
- Thorough logging in the privacy request audit trail tracks and monitors every step of your integration plan.
Defining complex integration steps
Our Merge Variables system unlocks advanced routing. A privacy request can be fulfilled differently if it's a consumer or an employee, or from a different jurisdiction, or really anything you decide to customize. That makes our system the most robust in terms of customizing the automatic workflow to fulfill a request.
